Study Abroad Fairs in Japan – Spring 2013
With Japan’s increased efforts towards the internationalization of its education system and the opening of the country, more Japanese students are expected to study abroad. Switzerland offers several key advantages making it a preferred destination for exchange-students from Japan:
- Swiss universities are internationally highly ranked and respected.
- Courses are available in three national languages, as well as in English.
- The country is (relatively) safe; the quality of life is high.
- Tuition fees are moderate.
The Science & Technology Office Tokyo of the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan attended the “European Higher Education Fair” in Tokyo and Kyoto, as well as several other “Study abroad fairs” of Japanese universities that have strong ties with Swiss universities (Tokyo Institute of Technology, University of Tokyo, Keio University, etc.) with a Swiss University booth. The Swiss higher education landscape, both research universities as well as the universities of applied sciences and arts, were represented at these booths.
