The works of National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication hosted at ETH Zurich and the University of Tokyo Advanced Design Studies Unit (T-ADS) are exhibited in the ongoing “Mutations – Créations / Imprimer le monde (Printing the World)” exhibition at the Centre Pomipidou in Paris. The two research labs have enjoyed a long relationship of exchanges also more recently as part of the strategic partnership initiative between the two universities.
NCCR Digital Fabrication is represented by two contributions; the Smart Dynamic Casting project by Gramazio Kohler Research and the Digital Grotesque – Grotto II by NCCR principal investigator Benjamin Dillenburger. T-ADS, led by professors Yusuke Obuchi, Kengo Kuma and Manabu Chiba, are credited for the works of alumni Kevin Clement and Anders Rod, a large-scale hanging work. See the construction and installation process here!
Don’t miss the exciting exhibition, featuring thirty innovative artists, designers and architects experimenting with 3D printing technology; it’s open until June 19, 2017!!
