The international congress “Medtech & Pharma Platform” takes place in Basel this year. The International Medtech & Pharma Platform is the foremost conference in the emerging field of products and solutions that combine medtech- and pharma-related components. This year the conference, which will take place at the Congress Center Basel on 22 and 23 September 2016, is entitled Innovative drug-device combinations and diagnostics. It will host leading industry and health authority experts chairing sessions and giving thought-provoking presentations on research, development or regulatory processes related to drug & device combination products, in vitro diagnostics and e/m-Health.
Dedicated to facilitating the symbiosis of medtech and pharma in industry, this event will provide ample opportunities to network and join cutting edge discussions on innovative techniques, developing complex combined products and regulatory updates in the field.
Dr. Lukas Engelberger, Member of the Executive Council and Head of Public Health Department of the Canton Basel-Stadt, will greet the participants with a welcome speech. Other prominent speakers of this edition are Cordula Landgraf (Swissmedic), Elizabeth Baker (UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency MHRA), Stefan Strasser (Austrian Medicines Agency AGES), Florian Wildenhahn (Roche), John Gerlich (Novartis) and Frank Kumli (EY).
In addition to speaking sessions and a tabletop exhibition, the conference offers an online matchmaking tool to allow attendees to request and arrange 1-on-1 meetings with other conference participants to discuss possible business partnerships.
The conference is gaining increasing interest since its kickoff in 2014 as reflected by increasing numbers of participants and exhibitors and it is becoming more and more international, attracting experts and professionals from all over Europe, the US and Asia.
