ZHAW visiting Tokyo

Zurich University of Applied Science touring through Asia

ZHAW’s School of Management and Law graduate class guided by Professor Rüttimann is visiting Japan and China for a 20-day study trip.

Visits to two destinations during their stay in Tokyo were organized by the Science & Technology Office Tokyo: An exchange at Hosei University, as well as a visit and introduction to the very successful ecommerce and mobile gaming company DeNA.

Even though some of the students were still jet-lagged from their trip from Zurich to Tokyo, everyone from ZHAW was excitedly interacting with their Japanese colleagues and preparing short case-studies to present in English during their visit at one of Japan’s biggest private universities.

After a lunch at the Ichigaya Campus of Hosei University that led to further interaction between Swiss and Japanese students, the ZHAW class visited the Embassy to receive a deeper insight in Japanese business culture by  Mr. Charles Ochsner, a Swiss  lawyer living and working in Japan.

The next day the same group visited the e-commerce company DeNA where they were welcomed by the Mr. Tomoyuki Akiyama from Global Corporate Communications for a two hour presentation and vivid Q&A Session. The students then dropped by various other companies and sites in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka before continuing their mission in Shanghai.
