Visit Live Demo of Exoskeleton TWIICE at the Swiss Medtech Pavilion (April 19-21, 2017)

Don’t miss the rare opportunity and visit us at the Swiss Medtech Pavilion at MEDTEC Japan 2017 (April 19-21, 2017, booth no. 907)! The exoskeleton TWIICE, developed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), will be presented by its team of developers, led by Prof. Hannes Bleuler, with live demos at our booth. Furthermore, Dr. Roland Sigrist and Mr. Dario Wyss, the organizers of Cybathlon – the world’s first international competition for disabled athletes using robotic assistive devices – will also fly in from Switzerland.

TWIICE is a modular lower limb exoskeleton developed by the Laboratoire de Systèmes Robotiques (LSRO) at EPFL. Through its adaptability to different morphologies, pathologies and user experiences, TWIICE intends to give back independence to paraplegics in daily activities.

The engineers of TWIICE and Ms. Silke Pan, the disabled athlete who has been working with them to develop the assistive device and competed at Cybathlon 2016 as their “pilot”, will join us at the Swiss Medtech Pavilion and give live demonstrations. Come see the cutting-edge technology and ask questions in person!

Cybathlon is the world’s first international competition in which “pilots” with physical disabilities take on tasks of daily-life using robotic assistive devices. The first event was in October 2016, initiated and organized by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETH Zurich). It proved to be such a great success that there will be a second event in 2020. Cybathlon aims at facilitating exchange between people with disabilities and technology developers, between academia and industry, and promoting dialogue with the general public.
