Swiss and Japanese Energy Experts meet in Gstaad, Switzerland

Initiated and organized by Prof. Dr. Louis Schlapbach (ETH-Empa/ NIMS) and Prof. Dr. Kohei Uosaki (NIMS), Japan’s and Switzerland’s energy experts met for the Energy Technology Research Workshop in Gstaad-Saanen, Switzerland to exchange ideas and deepen or initiate collaborations between the two countries.

As Ambassador Maeda pointed out in his welcome address, both countries do not have abundant fossil fuels. This fact can however also be seen as an advantage, as it lead to increased research in alternative energy sources.

During the three-day workshop many friendships were strengthened and ideas discussed, hopefully leading to more collaborative research in the near future.
