Kansai’s Swiss University Alumni Visit Arashiyama, Kyoto

Kyoto offers countless temples and shrines worth visiting: Last weekend Alumni of Swiss Universities who live in the Kansai region visited the Arashiyama region of Kyoto where they enjoyed the magic setting at Tenryuji (World Heritage Site) as well as the beautiful scenery during the “Romantic Train” ride. Again, more than 10 people attended the sightseeing part followed by a social dinner at a restaurant that specializes on locally grown vegetables in the center of Kyoto.

The Swiss  participants enjoyed the discussions and the exchange of ideas with their Japanese colleagues during dinner and nijikai.  The event was again organized by Mr. Yuta Daigi (former University of Zurich exchange student and now PhD student at Kyoto University) and Mr. Aurelio Cortese (graduate from EPFL and now PhD student at NAIST) and supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan.
