No border for art education; HEAD Geneva professor visits Japan

HEADArt has no borders. Why should there be one for art education?

Prof. Jan Geipel, Head of the Faculty for Design, Interior Architecture and Space Design at Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) visited counterpart universities in Tokyo and Kyoto in December 2015. He was enthusiastically welcomed by eight institutions, namely Musashino Art University, Tokyo University of the Arts, Chiba University, Bunka Fashion College, Bunka Gakuen, Tama Art University, Kyoto Institute of Technology and Kyoto University of Art and Design.

The purpose of Prof. Geipel’s trip was to strengthen existing exchanges or to present HEAD Geneva to potential collaborators in order to initiate or advance exchanges with interesting partners. The meetings were successful each in its own way.

Prof. Geipel collaborated with the Science and Technology Office Tokyo to set up the meetings. This facilitated the process and brought in new contacts for both sides.
