EPFL Second Best Young University in the World
According to the “Times Higher Education 100 Under 50 2013“, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) is the second best campus worldwide among universities younger than 50 years old. The podium is shared with two other universities from South Korea and followed by Hong Kong University of Science and technology, highlighting the fact that competition with Asian universities will increase in the near future.
The ranking is based on the same 13 performance indicators covering research, teaching, interaction with the industry and internationalization, as the “World University Ranking”, albeit reputation is less significant.
EPFL is considered a young university as itwas founded in 1969 as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology; previously, it was integrated into the University of Lausanne.
