Cybathlon at the International Modern Hospital Show, Tokyo

Cybathlon was invited to present at the 44th International  Modern Hospital Show in Tokyo where approximately  80,000 visitors, including domestic and overseas doctors, nurses, medical administrators, and medical equipment dealers attended.

It was a nice opportunity to meet people who had never heard of Cybathlon but were very impressed with the videos that were shown. New contacts were made including with corporations that expressed interest in possibly supporting the initiative in the future.

In the featured area where Cybathlon was presented, other high-lighted projects included the Smart Cyber Operating Theater (SCOT) supported by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) , Toray Industries Inc.’s  hitoeTM bio-electrode conductive nanofiber textile for health monitoring, as well as technologies utilizing virtual reality such as Fujitsu Ltd.’s  Heart Simulation Viewer  and HoloEyes Inc. which develops surgical simulation contents for doctors.
